For those in HR or Hiring: I am applying for roles in both finance and data analytics. Do companies prefer simple, black & white bulleted resumes? Or do they prefer ones with portfolio examples, headshots, and bulleted highlights? Thanks!
To say this job market is brutal is seriously understating things. Spent 2.5 months in the interview process with a "dream job" for a "great" company. Jumped through all the hoops including an ever-changing interview process, personality test, acuity test, added last minute interviewers, AND…
She can't be serious. She really has some nerve to be criticizing my hard work & efforts when she said nothing & sent me nothing to put in the newsletter for this month & IGNORED me when I asked her for her input TWICE.…
We've all felt a bout of the Sunday Scaries (anticipatory anxiety about the weekend melting away + the new workweek setting in).

Don't get involved in it. If gossiping starts, especially if one person says something negative about someone not in the room, say "it sounds like you should talk it over with him/her to find a solution or see if there was a misunderstanding." If someone tries to gossip that so-and-so just got divorced or is a recovering alcoholic or whatever it may be, instead of joining in the gossip, say "I hope he/she is doing well. I admire that he/she is coming to work despite personal struggles." When you keep it positive, there is no motivation to gossip with you, and since you haven't said anything bad about anyone, no one has reason to hate you.

Mind your business and move around the noise.
When people attempt to bring the "noise" to you, ignore it, change the subject or completely disconnect from the convo (this sometimes requires you to physically remove yourself).
Work drama is never ever worth it! Just do you and protect your peace at all cost.
