I was on LinkedIn and one of my connections brought up a great point for those looking to find a new job.
When it comes to your resume, "focus on achievements not activity. Instead of focusing on the tasks you have done in the past, list accomplishments and deliverables."
I like to say, think more about the IMPACT you've made rather than what you do on a daily basis.

One of the best articles I think written on this topic was by Lazlo Bock when he was at Google. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/20140929001534-24454816-my-personal-formula-for-a-better-resume/

When I did coaching I always used it as a tool to empower job seekers - you have to figure out your accomplishments to write it. That in turn reminds you how strong you are or where you need to shore up the game.

Agreed, showcase your quantifiable achievements. Even better, ensure you can connect the dots from how that win may impact your new employer! People care about if/how it can benefit them.

I agree, this is good advice. Employers look for employees who can operate their businesses, meet customers needs, produce very high quality products, and those with great productivity rates.

Hi Shanita - Yes! It's less about your "experience" in that particular industry and more about your tactical implementation and achieving results.

Yes - this is one of the primary benefits of hiring a credentialed, experienced resume writer. Someone who can extract your genius and present it in a way that shows the difference you made for the organizations you've worked with.
