I took a job to make more than my husband does (and EVERYTHING changed)
When I was offered a job that made significantly more than my husband, we knew we had to reassess our living situation. I had stayed at home when our kids were first born, but since accepting the job my husband has taken over and has agreed to be a stay at home dad for at least my first year. We're now much more open about money and I feel like we're in this together now more than ever.
My own story reminds me we (women) still have a long way to go. I doubted whether I should take a job because it offered more money than my husband made. My husband stepped up, but society wouldn't have expected him to do that.
Have you ever encountered a situation like this — where you doubted taking the next step because you've been trained to think you shouldn't?
