An email with no advance notice will not win hearts and minds. It will blindside everyone you choose to include. I agree with the other poster to set up an in person meeting and tell you boss ahead of time that you’d like to discuss a salary adjustment based on your expanded role.
Also agree with other comments about bring concrete examples of your expanded role and performance metrics. I’d hit hard and fast with any data you can get a hold of.
