*Cross Post* Admittedly i’m not the best at networking especially not on LinkedIn, but I’m seeking to land a role with a major corporation and they’ve recently posted several positions for which I’m qualified. I’ve applied for 3 of them but haven’t heard anything which I chalked up to it being the beginning of the year. I also “linked” in with several current employees that are in the field I’m interested, what do I say to further introduce myself and somehow get my resume to the hiring managers; also is it bad to apply for multiple roles in the same company?

It is definitely good to apply to multiple roles! Often Job descriptions are imperfect - so it’s important to try to get in front of hiring managers who may be willing to trade off one skill or trait for something great you have that was not part of the JD. You’re definitely doing the right thing by trying to connect with people in the company. But realize that many people won’t get back to you. My rule of thumb is that for every 10 people you outreach, you can expect one to respond.

Good morning! I recommend searching on LinkedIN for people in HR or Recruiting for that corporation, and send a direct message asking to connect and referencing your interest in that specific role. I get messages like that often and always respond/share with the hiring manager. Good luck!

I agree with the advice from both Romy and Deb.
As for what to say to others in the field/company you've reached out to, use the send a personal note option. You can say something like "I see we are in the same field/industry and I'm always trying to expand my network with others. I would love to connect and schedule time to learn more about you and your work."
I have found that a lot of people who work in large companies are not always active on LinkedIn until they need to be (i.e. job searching). So if you don't get a response from some of them, that might be the case.
Good luck!
