I was wondering if I could get some career advice. I'm disabled and been was laid off May of 2019. Every time I go to an interview, I get a feeling that they get uncomfortable or feel awkward and when I tell them that I'm hearing impaired (one of the disabilities that I have). Also, I have autism so I get nervous by talking kind of fast or don't make eye contact (which I don't mention untill I get the job). When I follow up after the interview, they have say found someone who has the experience to for the job.
Especially with the pandemic now, I am just tired and hesitate to put an application in. Worrying about for one if they take me serious in the interview process and in the job itself. I know that employers say they are a EOC. I'm just afraid that I'm just an afterthought when they can't find the right employers or if employers are proud to hire PWD (people with disabilities) but in a different industry that I want to search for.
Any advice would be great!
