Is there any legislation pending to protect ALL workers from bullying (especially by senior staff)?
My research a year ago indicated that only recognized disabilities, along with race, gender, religion, etc.
, were protected.
I’m in my late 50’s, and although female, have always managed to ride the rough waters in a male-dominated career (architecture). After a long career of coping and masking, my PTSD and (previously undiagnosed) Autism have finally gotten the best of me professionally.
I was shocked to learn that I needed a formal disability determination before I had any recourse over bullying and other behaviors that aggravated my situation. With an NDA in force with former employers (this is common), there’s little I can say about some of my experiences. I’m so glad that I chose to apply for Disability. I’m hoping for a positive decision in the next month or two.
But what a long and painful process to go through to find help! I wish to help others in similar situations; so if anyone can connect me with resources or people with similar interests, I’ll appreciate it!
Also, if anyone wants connect and share experiences or ask questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
Best wishes to all!
