Conclusion: A month ago I posted a workplace violence issue against me.

During that time I knew it wasn’t workplace violence at all. Management kept asking for my statement and I kept dragging my feet as I did know what this person was even saying and never found out to this day. I wrote my view on topics to put an end to it so I could focus on my work. There was no investigation at all like my original letter of directive stated would happen, so it was my word against hers who filed this claim that to me should have never been a workplace violence in the first place and if anything just a grievance if I hurt of feelings from a conversation. I don’t recall using any language that would have been offensive nor did I call her names, etc. I was just upset and emotional which I apologized and she accepted. That’s it!!! No violence whatsoever. I asked why the topics changed from when I originally asked for specifics and he said it was verbal from her and written statement came later when they asked for mine. How in the world did they react to giving me a horrible intimidating letter of directive the way it was written on something verbal from her? Shouldn’t she have written her statement first before action taken against me? I have so many unanswered questions on this and I was example of learning experience on their part apparently. It was just handled all wrong. If it was violence why was I called back to get letter in the office that day? This whole situation was just bizarre after my 33 years there. In conclusion, I got a counseling letter and another directive attached to take 8 HR training courses from how to deal with a difficult co worker, accountability, professionalism, sensitivity, etc. My letter that I received was like I was in kindergarten on how to say please, thank you, your welcome, as if a 60 year old didn’t know that. I couldn’t do it on work time, it had to be during my lunch, before or after work, I was told to schedule courses and notify supervisor when I was taking them and provide certificates upon completion. I have been furious and upset about this and went to HR for first time ever and guess what? They never had a case on me that was being investigated. HR said they were calling my supervisor to get paperwork , but never knew if they did. HR also advised that I should take the courses to prevent insubordination and get suspended. I honestly thought about being suspended and having my day at personnel board, but changed my mind and took courses. I spent 5 hours completing these courses over the weekend and it appears everyone in the workplace has been doing things wrong in workplace and all will be investigated dealing with this woman. I have been held accountable and punished for my actions and behavior that I never got to defend myself in knowing what she claimed I said or did. What kind of BS was that? But good thing, I have my certificates that shows I’m professional from this point forward. It was a hard lesson learned and still coping on what exactly did I say or do to cause this crazy situation that got me in this mess. Oh and to put the icing on the cake, I was up for promotion before this situation happened and been doing work of manager since April 2023 and when I asked about it, the Director said in a rude tone, that “ I obviously don’t deserve it and will never get it”. That’s his call but telling someone that is not professional either. I’m processing this but think it’s time to retire early even though I’m leaving money on the table unless someone has a different perspective they want to share. Perhaps a leave of absence, but gotta go back eventually to finish 3 years.
