Dealing with a Diva Influencer
Hi all, looking for some advice on how to best approach a delicate situation.
For background, I've been pursuing a very costly webinar to gain access to a great audience that is typically elusive/hard to reach. They'll continue to promote our material after the fact, which is important to note for the following.
For this webinar, I had gotten a well-known influencer in our niche space to commit to doing a webinar, and paid a fee for her time in putting together the presentation and then ultimately presenting it.
I am a pretty easy-going person, so when she continually pushed off sending me the slides until the week before, I didn't think much of it. However, once I did see it, I asked for a couple changes. Some of the graphics were pixelated, text was very lengthy and massive, and it generally didn't match our brand standards.
Fast forward to Sunday night. I needed to send over the final version by Monday at 10AM MST, so I sent her an email asking for access to edit the text size (She'd used Google slides and I didn't have permission to edit).
So she sends me the slides, and so I make quick work on the edits and forward it on to our producer. Note, none of the actual content of the slides changed, just the font size and pixelated graphics. Then, just a few minutes ago, I find out that she formally complained that no one has ever touched her slides (I think this comes from a place of ego), and that she was really pissed at me.
I'm not sure what to do from here. Any advice? Oh by the way, I'm presenting with her tomorrow. :|
