Searching for work while pregnant

I’m currently due in July and have been a sahm for the past four years, give or take a few months of work I had to surrender to take care of my little one. I want to put myself out for a job now a remote job, do I post my availability for after the baby? Do I just try to get a job now and avoid telling employers I’ll eventually need a week to get my body together (god willing). What would you do?

I would just start applying for jobs you believe you are qualified for. You can list the gap in your resume as "stay at home mom" or "child caregiver". In these days most people will understand it. A job search can be like winning the lottery. you can get replies the next day or get pindrop silence for months. You don't know what you will get, even if you are employed. If you put your resume out there now, you can also avail to any free resume and interview assessments, work on polishing the resume as well. Then by the time you do come back ready to work, you will have something very very polished. But right now I would just apply with a decent resume version you have. Many people are unemployed or staying at home and silently applying elsewhere to leave a job they hate. We are all up against stiff competition. By applying now and polishing it up as you go, you will find you need to revise some things. It doesn't need to be perfect since you will be on leave for a baby anyway soon. If you do get interviews right away, I wouldn't tell them until the final stages or offer stage about a maternity leave when you know they truly do care and would value you.

You're invited.
