Am I tripping?

I’ve been temping in admin at a PR firm. From day 1 I was cleaning up the mess the previous employee left upon her termination. (I was hired within 24 hrs with no interview through the temp agency.) I wasn’t onboarded but somehow expected to know the ins and outs, meet deadlines and submit overdue reports (even though I didn’t receive any logins and company codes until 2 weeks later!). HR met with me weekly and I always kept my composure during these casual “check ins”. In this week’s check in, they asked me to stay an additional 4-6 weeks but didn’t offer me the position bc they need someone with “more experience”. When I asked what specific experience was needed, everything HR said is what I was already doing with expertise! I also saw the job posting on LinkedIn and I am overqualified for this role. Soooo I’m good enough to stay for another few weeks, but not enough to do the same work with full salary and benefits? I was hoping to be offered perm and I’m not looking forward to entering the job market. Again. I felt gaslit in that meeting as if I was under qualified and they were doing me a favor, when it’s the complete opposite! And now I’m overthinking and gaslighting myself. Any advice or insight would be helpful.
