What is the best way to approach an equity evaluation for my current job?

Since this sounds like it would/should involve a reclassification instead of just a raise, there are multiple steps involved. Some of this may be available online, but it depends on the company. 1) Directly compare your current position description to the one you think is more appropriate and delineate for each duty why the higher-level role is a better fit for what you are actually doing. (Easy if you have access to standard/generic job descriptions.) 2) Discuss (or observe or find a more subtle path if discussion isn't feasible) specific job responsibilities with a couple of people both at your current level and the higher level. You might be surprised (or not) by the direct comparisons of real-world implementation of the different levels in your organization. While I wouldn't necessarily bring this direct knowledge to the official discussion, it will give you a better feel for how your job will fare in a desk audit and possibly suggestions for good comparative staff roles you can pass along to the auditor. 3) Depending on the size of the company, it might be helpful to benchmark with other industry contacts in equivalent positions. You can gather information from colleagues and provide suggestions to your supervisor/HR on peer equivalents if the opportunity arises. 4) After you do your homework, approach your supervisor with a request for a desk audit, starting with the information from suggestion #1. If your boss is supportive, you can offer data from suggestion #3 as further ammunition when your request is sent up the chain. Be extremely cautious about sharing information gained from suggestion #2. The purpose of That one is more for your own decision-making on how hard to push and whether you're likely to be successful. Inequality happens a lot at work place. I totally understand your situation. We say great ability comes with great responsibilities so I'm sure you're capable but sometimes we don't have to compare with others in terms of pay, positions or anything stuff like that if we wanna live happily. At times I feel like comparing and the feeling makes me feel stress and I wanting to earn more and get where I want which makes it worse. So when I come across inequality I accept it cuz I want to live freely and happily even thou I feel uncomfortable from the bottom of my heart but I have to.
