LIVING THE GOOD LIFE

I was recently asked what “Living the good life” meant to me. For some, it’s driving a fancy car. For others, it’s traveling around the world. For me, it means living my purpose. I’ve been in many jobs where work was always “fine” but I never truly felt fulfilled. It was when I took the time to dig deep and really figure out what I was meant to be doing that everything changed. Then, taking a chance and going for it was a true gift I gave myself. It’s rare to be in a place where you enjoy the majority of your day but I’ve been able to do so for a few years now. For that, I’m grateful. What does living the good life mean to you??

For me, this means means being a part of a team that strives toward a purpose with a huge impact on others.

Living the good life to me means helping others. It makes me happier when I can give to others and expect nothing in return. And it’s not always about money, but giving of time, talents, ideas, and energy. I have been greatly blessed in my life and I know this, therefore, I feel compelled to give back. For me giving decreases my blood pressure and reduces the stress that has become a constant companion for some. It is always better to give from the heart cheerfully than receive. It allows you to breathe.

Carmelita - thanks for sharing. I can tell those lucky enough to be around you are blessed as well. Keep giving (and being okay to receive as well)! :)

I'd like to know this as well. I struggle with this for too long.

It really starts with a lot of self-discovery. Such an important part of the overall process. And then being willing to move past your fears (which will always be there) and take action. I'm happy to talk more about this with you if it would help. I'll message you a link to schedule some time with me if you want.

I love this! Do you feel like you're doing that right now?

Must be because I’ve been blessed more than I could ever imagine lately. Been putting myself in the other person’s shoes to understand their story. Plus, silence is powerful at times and not sharing my personal life at work.

Hi Kelli, I am on a similar path to purpose with many bumps and bruises along the way. What steps did you take to help figure out what was next for you?

Hi Simone - good for you to try to figure it out rather than sit idle. First, know that it's ok to have bumps and bruises along the way. I pivoted a few different times before really figuring it out. Also, try not to put too much pressure on yourself to figure out your LIFE purpose, but rather your NEXT purpose. I did a lot of self-discovery work. I think that's the best place to start - and then create a plan to move you forward. Happy to talk more about this 1:1 with you. I'll DM you a link to schedule some time if that would help.
