I'm newly promoted (and my coworkers won't respect me)
The good news: right before the pandemic, I got promoted.
The bad news: I'm having trouble getting my former coworkers to respect me as a supervisor.
It is awkward as some of them have been at the company longer than me. Some of them also have developed poor work habits that I used to ignore because I didn't feel as if it was my place to say anything. Yet even an intern who's been with us since the beginning of the year wouldn't pick up my calls yesterday.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm excited about this position and I want to be a good manager, but I'm really struggling with my team.
