Hi everyone, I’m trying to decide how much leave I should take after my baby is born in May.
I’m a first-time mom and independent contractor. I am planning to go fully remote after the birth and recognize that I do not have access to FMLA as I’m not an employee. My goal is to work about 20-25 hours a week as a stay-at-home mom. I know I will go stir-crazy without adult human interaction and stimulating work!
By the time the beginning of May hits I should have about a month of income saved up. My spouse just got a raise and we have savings. How much leave is realistic for a new mother who is not planning on relying on childcare postpartum?
