Do you believe that a boss has the right to schedule their worker's over 40 hours a week. I am asking this question as I recently had to confront my supervisor who had me scheduled to work 48 hours this week. I of course had signed a contract at human resources saying I would only work 36 hours and no more then that. She finally agreed to knock me down to my 36 after of course sending for the contract from human resources. However, my fellow co-workers are also scheduled for anywhere from 43 to 48 hours and they are all afraid to speak up. I know we are short staffed but are employers allowed to do this? If so do you believe it is right? We have already had two people quit due to the workload and the supervisors demands.
