I was curious what everyone's experience is using recycled printer ink? The cartridge I need is half the cost for recycled versions but I don't want to buy it if it's not going to work correctly. For context, I print almost exclusively text-centric documents.

Current events call for adapting new solutions.

Most modern printers that connect to the internet have patched updates to their software that will not let the reused or off-brand cartridges function in them.
So if it is worth the risk, why not, but I found buying a printer whose ink was not an arm and a leg to restock (even if the printer was a little more expensive) was a much better way to go.

I have ran into this problem. My printer ink is not the price I'd like it to be. You can check with Office Depot. I believe they have a program for those who wish to recycle their used ink cartridge's

When I used refurbished toner cartridges, half of the ink was on the paper and the other half was inside the printer.
Did you know that Staples has a Rewards Program? You take your used cartridges back and each cartridge goes towards the amount of Rewards you accumulate. I have received coupons for $10 - $15.
In addition, they will honor their online prices for instore purchases. On average, I have saved between $15 -$20 on printer cartridges. However, you do need to take a copy of their ad in, with their name on it, for this to apply.
This has saved me lots of money. (I'm taking online schools and print out hundreds of Power Point documents -- this really helps.)
