I’ve been watching Selling Sunset on Netflix and literally, I am already at the third season and it’s been only one day (nervous laugh) since I started watching.
The show basically reminds me of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, because the whole story happens in Los Angeles, where the palm trees touch the blue skies and basically breathing is super glamorous.
Like, I’ve never been to Los Angeles, so I really don’t know how is the vibe over there, but, from what I’ve seen in movies/reading/etc is that people are always glowing, very organic mood and easy going lifestyle, which sounds amazing!
But this is not the main goal I want to discuss about!
Selling Sunset is a reality television series that revolves around the high-end residential properties in Los Angeles marketed by the Oppenheim Group’s real estate brokerage firm. So, the show basically tracks the group of agents as they live their personal and professional lives.
It retracts the competition between the agents, like any other job, of course. But, most of the time it seems to be a very peaceful working environment! Also, is a group of nine people and seven of them are women.
And they’re badass! Also, they’re always on the top of their games to sell more houses and gain more money.
However, when it comes to their personal lives and as every person living in group, society as what it is, they fight, have different ideas and different points of view. This is basically living, right?
Still, the show creates an image that, even though, sometimes they may not like each other and literally have said bad things the very day before, they HELP each other if needed.
So, they put aside their differences and empower each other to get the things done.
I thought personally that this was like major goals. I want to work in a place where all my coworkers feel enthusiastic and ready to push us further and make it happen together. The individualism these days are terrifying.
Like, I mean, imagine real quick: we work painting houses, like, if you’re gonna help me paint mine house and we’re gonna finish sooner, why would I be mad? Just because I’m gonna need to share the results? Or share my credit? The spotlight can shine on everybody and there’s plenty space for everybody as well.
I feel that we need to get our girls and support them, always! Be number one is not the priority, it’s the job done that needs to be the main goal! It’s the result as a team, as a firm or anything that you work with!
And, we really don’t need to step over someone, we can hold hands and make it happen together.
So, that’s my Tuesday night reflection!
If you watched the show, tell me!
