I work in HR as a specialist, have a HR certification in a small office and got a new HR manager a few weeks before I went on maternity leave.
After return last year from the leave one of the HR consultants left. I applied for the position interviewed and was not given the position. When I asked for feedback I was told I have no HR experience. Then a 2nd HR consultant left and that position was given to someone internal from another department (not HR.) During all this time I am being asked to do thing that are listed on the job description of the HR consultant or even the job description of the HR manager and comments are being made about my choice to breastfeed/pump, maybe being pregnant again or becoming pregnant soon etc. after I was first denied the promotion I spoke to my boss’ boss and voiced my concerns regarding the hr managers comments and thinking I was purposely denied the position based on the fact that I was still nursing/could get pregnant again. Boss’ boss said they were working on reclassified my position to a consultant. The first HR consultant role became available again in November and I applied again. I have since obtained 2 more HR certification. This time I was not even interview and when I asked through email why I wasn’t I receive no reply. I feel like I have a good case for EEOC complaint but want an outside perspective.
