Hi everyone - looking for some guidance and suggestions.
I've been looking for a new job for the past two years as I want to pivot away from managing physical product and leave a industry that has been continuing to decline to protect my future.
I've worked in Account Management/Bus Dev/Project Management for the past 5 years for a consulting firm and most recently for visual merchandise manufacturer. Previously I worked in Product Development for Fashion/Accessories. I have leadership experience, although my team has been reduced in half due to Covid. I'm looking to apply my skill sets to other industries from consulting to tech to startups.
I've gotten a number of interviews and proceed through multiple rounds before being rejected for candidates whose qualifications are a better match for the position at this time. All of these companies know my background upfront and are aware - so why do I keep getting interviews but no job offers?
Any suggestions on how to better apply to jobs and frame my experience? In order to pivot, do I need to go back to school? Am I going to be stuck at my job forever? (apologies on being so negative, but having dealt with so much rejection, my self confidence is beginning to erode.)
