Fellow FGB's... Due to COVID, I have suddenly found myself seeking new employment. I was very well compensated at my job-but earned every cent. Subsequently, I find that due to there being such a huge pool of candidates ( Indeed told me one position I applied to had OVER 600 APPLICANTS!) , obtaining my salary requirements is challenging. I'm a consummate professional, have an MBA and bring a lot to any table. I don't think I should have to back track in earnings. I would appreciate input with regards to negotiating for what I am worth. Thanks FGB's.

Hi Kristen, What you are saying is one of the main reasons I am a self-employed freelancer. I got tired of working for less than I knew I was worth with my experience.
Now I set my own wages and my own hours. I have more free time because I work for me. You should consider coaching or consulting, on your time and with what you are worth as the earnings.

I’m also now self-employed for the same reason. The company I was with didn’t see my worth, but are now trying to get me to come back as a general manager for one of their locations. I now make more than the general managers do even with one of the larger gyms.

I am so jealous of both you and Deb. I always take the safe route.... always. It's both a great thing and a horrible one. Fear of not having stability is my reason.

Kristen you are looking for work anyway, start looking for consultation jobs or coaching jobs. If you do not believe in you, who will? You could start by setting up a bio on upwork and then bidding for jobs in there. Start getting the word out to family and friends. Word of mouth can help. Instead of being fearful, be fearless. You go Girl!!

covid-19 has changed the financial landscape. here is australia, every advertised job will have over 300+ applicants. salaries have gone down significantly. 2021 will be very different. the economic recovery will be on its way and salaries will reflect that. in the meantime, keep looking for the job that is a good fit for you right now, irrespective of the salary.
