Getting back on track.

I let myself go following the separation of my husband. I’m trying to find friends who will hold me accountable and motivate me to get back into shape for myself... And also for my kid’s sake so I can make an example of what healthy and happiness looks like again. Any support of advice on how to achieve this goal would be much appreciated.

I agree with girlpwr that you’ve got to put yourself first for a while. That also means not being too hard on yourself during this new period of transition.

hi anon, i’m sorry that you are going through this.. although i am not married yet, i hope my story can help you in some way. my parents were separated when i was 6 and they didn’t get divorced till i was 22. i started asking my mom to get a divorce and start dating when i was an early teenager but she refused because she didn’t want me to be labelled as a child of divorce and she didn’t want to introduce a man into my life that was not my father. she wanted to wait till i graduated college. i wish i pushed her more then, because now looking back, she was depressed almost all the time, and i think i blamed myself for her unhappiness. so i think you are taking the right step by trying to find happiness again. i just want to add that don’t feel guilty to put yourself first. good luck anon! my heart goes out to you.
