One small step I advise clients to pursue is to make a list of 100 companies they would like to work for, and then spend 30 minutes daily connecting on LinkedIn with peers, hiring managers, human resources recruiters and the diversity office at those companies. Once they have connected with those people, they should spend 30 minutes daily to showcase their expertise by posting articles with a 1-2 line comment, and if applicable, writing and sharing their own articles. Once they have warmed up connections, seek to have 10-minute conversations with them about their roles and goals (so they can follow up in the future with helpful information). As they find good connectors in that process, they can also share their goals and results they can create, which should lead to learning about opportunities to step into that dream job/career!

One of the things I believe is most important on a daily basis is to take 15-30 minutes to read a book, either self-improvement, on creativity, empowerment or the particular career you dream of. Studies have shown that book reading improves our brain function and memory, relieves stress, increases our knowledge and can motivate us https://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifestyle/10-benefits-reading-why-you-should-read-everyday.html Also, surround yourself with likeminded people or those in the career you want for support. (plenty of groups for any interest on FB, LinkedIn and soon on FGB too). :)
