I always tell people that you are just as married the next day whether you spend $5000 or $500,000. I got married 32 years ago, so prices won't compare. We did the traditional church wedding with a reception at a banquet venue, band, traditional bridal party, etc. While it was a wonderful day, if I had it to do over again, I would host a huge chicken BBQ with a few kegs of beer and a DJ for dancing. Read = casual. I strongly advise anyone planning a wedding not to go into debt doing it. You'll have enough financial pressure after you're married! I would, however, do our honeymoon over again in a heartbeat. We rented a house on the beach on Nantucket for a week in October :) Best wishes to all of the soon-to-be brides!
