Experience gifts - Yay or nay?

I prefer to buy less stuff and more experiences for friends and family and I’m looking for recommendations!

Broadway shows, movie tickets, Escape Rooms, cooking classes, surfing classes - there's so much experiences out there - check out coursehorse or even airbnb experiences for more ideas

I'm all about experience gifts, especially when giving to kids. I give my nephews tickets to sporting events most holidays and much prefer this to yet another toy. Plus, taking a family to almost any event (sports, concerts, theatre) is outrageously costly so I find this works well for kids and parents alike.

I got a TimeOut gift card which I loved! There were many experience for me to choose from like cooking classes, coding workshops, museum tickets, etc.

I LOVE experience gifts! Sometimes it's hard to buy a product/gift you know the person will like or use, but making a memory and gifting an experience is always appreciated! I got my boyfriend a BYOB cooking class for his birthday this year and it was SO much fun - highly recommend!

Check out this article, LOTS of great gift ideas but experiences are towards the bottom! https://aubrealouise.com/2019/11/01/2019-sustainable-holiday-gift-giving-guide/

I love experience gifts and so do my children! We do annual passes to the zoo and aquarium. Concerts, cooking classes, pottery classes etc, are always good too!

I love gifting date nights. And if they have kids the gift comes includes me babysitting.

Yes. I got my husband tickets to a concert. It won’t be until the end of March, so I am thinking of a comedy show or something and calling it a Now and Later gift. Comedy show now, and concert later.

Gift cards to activities or hot restaurants are always well received.

Yess!!! I love this - concert tickets are great, spa groupons, I don't know if this counts as an experience but the best gift I got last year was a Lyft giftcard ahahaha
