I was recently laid off from a company where I was a rehire, my interview was a cinch because they referred to my history and work ethic. Previous to this job, I was referred by a friend who vouched for me, needless to say, I have not been on a formal interview or even applied to jobs the conventional way in years.. my question here is around recruiting practices, I have received interest from recruiters on LinkedIn where they reach out to ask if I'm interested in a role, I reply in a timely manner that I am and then..poof they're gone?? What's up with that? It's driving me bonkers.. in another instance I had a phone interview with a recruiter where she thought I'd be a great fit, she asked for my availability as she would be scheduling our next steps and then poof, again? I understand if I am not a fit, obviously I dont take that personal, I guess I'm just dumbfounded on recruiting practices of ghosting candidates..am I missing something or has this happened to anyone else out there?
