Who makes the laws or regulations for Human Service field workers to follow?
Now more than ever the Human service field positions is overwhelmed with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and phobias associated with Covid-19 restrictions and deaths, civil rights and political protesters and riots, as well as increase in gun violence through out the United States. Counselors/therapist are experiencing burnout faster than normal with no medical health insurance or personal and sick leave to help reduce burnout.! I want to advocate for change in counselor/therapist licensure and job position benefits. Does anyone know who I should contact or focus my concerns?

So I suspect that this probably varies Human Service field to Human Service field. Someone in private practice is going to have a different experience than someone working for a state agency. I don't think there is one set group to contact unless there is a specific group you're worried about.

Echoing the above, I'm sure employment rules and regulations vary from employer to employer. However, you could contact professional organizations that coordinate with various offices to express your concerns/ advocate for setting social standards. Here's a list that could be helpful: https://alfredadler.edu/services/career-development/career-planning-links

Thank you for your responses! I contacted my political representative who pointed me in the direction f the US Department of Health and Human Services. I live in the Philadelphia, Pa. A coworker provided CBH (Community Behavioral Health) and DBHIDS (Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disabilities) as possible regulators.
