I had the same problem. Thanks for the advice, Stephanie!

Hi Anon, I'm sorry to hear about your role, I've been there. I would start by filing for unemployment (keep the money coming in!) and then get your resume polished up. Make sure you're focusing on successes versus tasks, keep the format clean and concise. Start applying for positions online, attend virtual career fairs (they have them on FairyGodBoss!) and get yourself into some networking events locally. One big area to focus on is self care. Since you'll have some time between jobs, do things that you wouldn't always have the time to do when you're working full time: go to the gym, yoga, walks, hit the beach. Read and brush up your skills on sites like Udemy (super cheap!) and remember that your position wasn't eliminated based on your skills, it was a financial decision. You still have a ton of value! Good luck! Stephanie

Well, if this means you are fired then you need to start looking for a new job, figure out your COBRA / healthcare situation and start maybe applying for unemployment benefits. However, if they are telling you the position is no longer needed but giving you an opportunity to do something else, then you should evaluate that position or the options....
