Question! How much do you tip pizza delivery?

How much do you find yourself giving to your delivery person? Do you tip in cash or through the service you ordered through (like Seamless, GrubHub, UberEats, etc)?

Following up on this convo -- great read and good to know that cash is indeed best if you can! https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/21/nyregion/doordash-ubereats-food-app-delivery-bike.html

Always minimum of 20% of at least $5 cash, whichever is higher. Drivers have to pay cost of car insurance, gas, wear-and-tear on their vehicles. I've waited tables but I actually think drivers end up doing more work because of the added costs they endure.

Also, the delivery fee goes to the companies, not the drivers!

DoorDash drivers only get paid $1, those drivers rely on the tips. Right now even a lawsuit is going on with drivers saying DoorDash is not giving them all of their tips. I always tip 20% plus. These delivery drivers are working harder then wait staff. They are using their own vehicles, gas, time to run to pick up our food and then drive it us to hand deliver at our doors. Just all so we can be lazy and not have to deal with weather and traffic. They should be tipped accordingly. If you can't afford to be a decent tipper, than pick up the food yourself!

$5 cash - flat, across the board. It's only for me and my family, so, two pizzas or one pizza and wings, stuff like that. I don't have pizza delivered for parties and such. So, five bucks. We were even so close to one store (too lazy for pick-up) that our regular delivery guy told me that he makes sure he gets our house for the $5 tip. I thought he was joking at first. He wasn't. So now, wherever I am, I make sure to have at least $5 - even if I have to use coins.

Wow. I feel a little bad after reading everyone's comments. I'm a solid 15% for delivery because I look at it as a one-off transaction (tipping them for bringing the food from A to B). At restaurants, I always tip at least 20% because it requires more continual care on their part!

I tend to tip $5-7 for delivery pending the order total. Agree with most people on here that I tend to tip around 20%!

At least 20%. I would like to point out that delivery fees from any sites like Grubhub do NOT go to the driver. Do unto others, and tip well for any service provided!!

20% at a minimum, more if it's raining!
