For me, nope. I just want to make a living that supports my family and allows us to live the kind of life we want to live. I don't need status or accolades. I don't need the finer things in life (though I enjoy them now and then when I can). I just want peace, happiness, and a good life - even if it is small and unrecognized by the outside world.

This statement is somehow coming from a voice of an insecure man. Apparently, there are some men who just simply wants us to focus on our family. Somehow, if we managed to find friends, we are somewhat empowered and they are in a way threatened. Having a decent conversation with someone does not necessarily mean you want to gain heirarchy in your social status. You just want to have an outlet in your daily ‘boring’ routine.

I’m personally really content at the status I’m at. I don’t really have the urge to want to just keep climbing but I feel lucky where I’m at.

Hmm good question. I don’t think everyone is eager to gain a higher social status but I think it’s perfectly okay to strive for that or not. Curious: Do you believe you’re a social climber? Why/why not?
