Searching for a job

Hello all! I am 25 and am finishing my general bachelor's degree here in the next semester. I have struggled with undiagnosed learning disabilities my whole life and am just now able to seek out answers for them. (I found out I have ADHD and am still waiting on the results for other LD's.) Throughout my journey thus far in academics, I found my love for the environment and also wish to integrate psychology, social justice, and nutrition into the matter since a large part of my life has been living in under-served areas. However, I am struggling to find my voice and where I might fit in. It is causing me to walk aimlessly in my search for a fitting job while I finish my degree. Does anyone have advice on how I can enhance this journey or what I should be asking myself as far as what to put on a resume to find jobs? Sorry if this is all over the place, I just simply don't have much guidance and have a lot to sort through still. Thank you for your time!

Hi Alycia, I'd love to connect with you! I'm pivoting into environmental sustainability and product stewardship in consumer goods (mostly apparel). I know it's not exactly what you are looking at, but there are lots of organizations (NGO's) that incorporate social justice in their platforms.

Have you thought about non-profit work? There are a number of very worthwhile environmental justice organizations around the country. Also, if you're in the Bay Area, Rose Foundation is hiring - they're great to work with!

Congrats on being so close to earning your first degree! It definitely sounds like you possess high self-awareness. It's great you are reaching in for guidance. Have you considered pursuing a paid fellowship? Check out www.profellow.com! They provide information on fellowships matching your interests, career tips, and fully-funded grad school resources. Also, it may help to chat with people in career services at your university and/or alumni who are doing the type of work you aspire to do. All the Best, SP

Yes and I think that is amazing getting ready to change your perspective. I suggest researching some schools, maybe on LInkedIn or school groups to give their perspective of how to move forward. Sorry if not helping

Have you utilized your institution's career center? Do you have a faculty advisor or professor(s) you could ask for guidance/advice and discuss career options.

There is a great masters and PhD program at Pacifica Graduate Institute in California in eco-psychology. It's pretty amazing and is designed for people from different types of backgrounds. It is a very inclusive place. (Full disclosure, I'm an alum, not a marketer for them).
