How to Get "Qualified" to be UX or UI Designer?

I am looking to fully shift my career. I have a BSB from a mid-prestige business school, yet no real tangible technical skills/experience (i.e. no coding language experience) I have a Product Design Minor which I feel is what comes closest to UX and UI in my history. Bottom line...how do I get "Qualified" for this career path? I see so many expensive online programs, and want to know from experience, what is worthwhile and acknowledged in the industry?

I was just talking to a friend's son about this very topic as I spent my career in IT. We executed a few searches together and found this great site: https://certification.comptia.org/career-change/switching-career-path/how-to
