Eating for your blood type — does it work?

A friend recently told me about how she became vegetarian after learning about eating for your blood type. She lost a good amount of weight and said she feels incredible after cutting out meat, which is the main diet advice for those with type A blood. Has any one else tried this and if so, what were your results?

I just recently learned about this diet myself, while searching for a way to better my health post cancer (I am so blessed to have kicked cancer's butt a few years ago, with the grace of God!). I am also a type A and always followed a more low carb and keto type diet. But I struggled to maintain and my health was never quite on point. The science of this diet makes so much sense and now that I am eating primarily plant-based, with some fish and other approved foods, I feel so much better! I highly recommend looking into it and giving it a shot! He stresses the 80/20 rule, where you want to be compliant 80% of the time but if you are out at a party or your grandma's house and she is making her favorite dish, which may not be compliant, you can eat it. Just don't fall completely off the wagon and get back on as soon as you can :)

Wow, that's amazing! Looking forward to getting started. And oh yeah - I could never pass up my grandma's holiday meals!

I am A+, and eating habits in a way help a lot in losing weight or getting back your glow, I don't know about eating according to your blood group. B12, omega-3 fatty acids, and iron are a few of the top ones you’d need to keep an eye on. These can be found in plant based food like beans, green vegetables, hemp or chia seeds. Meat contains a lot of saturated fats and can lead to high cholesterol, heart disease, in short meat contains inflammatory compounds, whereas plant based meals are anti-inflammatory due to their high fiber and antioxidants. More of protein and fat is the only intake when you eat meat. It is less in nutritional value, no fibers, no antioxidants. Thus, it slows down the process inside your system. On the other hand plant based meals are rich in fiber and nutrients, thus speeding up your metabolism, and keeps you energetic and fresh, plus it slows down your aging factor too while it takes care of your weight. I have a high cholesterol problem, thanks to eating red meat. And I hope you know what does it leads to, heart disease, hypertension, high blood pressure, stroke, these all are like buddies that accompany high cholesterol. I was a meat eater few years back, switched to vegetarian, though I still eat eggs (whites only), so I am not vegan, but yes, I have switched from meat to vegetarian food and I feel better and lighter than ever.

Thanks for the info! I will likely follow a similar diet as I eat eggs daily. Excited to see and feel the results!
