Arbonne? Is it a scam

A friend of a friend has been posting how Arbonne has really been working for them. I'm so skeptical of any shake-based dieting regimen, but I was curious because the person who posted is a yoga teacher/Crossfit person who claimed she did her research. Thoughts?

If you want the real story behind MLMs and are on Facebook, join the group called "Sounds like MLM but okay". They also have a podcast. MLMs are based on a horrible business model and MANY of the products are sub par and grossly overpriced. (i.e. the Colorstreet nail stickers are $11 - $13 USD from a consultant, but the brand that is sold at Walmart (which is made by Colorstreet) is UNDER $5 USD.) Additionally, the folks selling these products aren't educated as to what you should/should not be using the products for, and often give wrong, harmful info (i.e. recommending people ingest essential poils - tip: don't!) The best bet is to steer clear of all of them - even if your BFF is selling something.

I'd be VERY cautious with MLM's. I recommend checking out "The Dream" podcast (season 1) for more information behind the scenes of an MLM, the MLM structure, and the history of MLM's. https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/stitcher/the-dream/e/56394469

I recommend staying away from Arbonne and other MLMs. Though the products may be great, MLMs are a predatory business model which I would be cautious about supporting. Definitely check out the podcast Julia recommends for more info!

My friend sells for Arbonne and lost significant weight using it in her own life but as said above she also made the smart choices and lifestyle changes. I bought a few products to support her "small business" and I like them but I haven't repurchased and I can't say they are life changing.

I agree with Anne. I too also use DoTerra but I don't sell it to my friends or family. I recommend different products to them and show them how the oils and other products have worked for me and my children. If they are interested in something, I allow them to come to me instead of being a salesperson begging for their money.

Agree w/Jill. Apparently, I became a DoTerra "distributor" after one meeting a few years ago! I do love their essential oils, but don't actively sell to friends or family unless they ask. To each his/her own, I say, and be careful. There is no single solution or "magic bullet", unfortunately.

Arbonne, like DoTerra, and other similarly structured MLM companies have tons of devotees. I represent neither. But I love a few of the Arbonne products, such as their skin cream and their teas. I know people who have lost weight and gotten back onto a healthy track using others of their products. But like anything, health cannot be found solely in a bottle and neither can permanent weight-loss. It requires smart choices and lifestyle changes.
