My company was in financial trouble before the pandemic. My previous position was eliminated late last year, and I returned to an entry level position rather than be unemployed. I accepted a new, more appropriate position yesterday. Start date is in three weeks. I don't think they will show me the door immediately when I give my notice, but the financial news of the company gets worse by the day. I saw a co-worker give two weeks notice before the pandemic, and all was well. We've taken a significant nose dive since. I could see them taking an opportunity to save money, and I can't afford to miss a paycheck in this environment. What would you do?
