Women co-workers are being more supportive

I can only speak from experience, but I've found that my women co-workers are much more supportive of me and others during this time. The men on our team seem focused just on getting things done and back away from discussions about anything else. Has anyone had this experience too? Should I do something about it? I want everyone to feel like they can share the tough times they're going through.

I think everyone deals with things in their own way. Some people keep work and personal separate. Do they normally talk about their personal lives? If not, it just might not be their thing. Check in and see how they are holding up. How they respond should be your cue as to whether or not they want to talk. In my work group, the men that are normally very open are talking about this more than the ones who don’t normally share their personal lives.

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you! I'll try to tune in to their responses.

The men I work with have been supportive, but I think a little hesitant to share. You might have to make the first move and ask them how they're doing.

That makes sense. I guess everyone isn't always willing to share, lol, especially in personal times. Thank you!
