Discouraged while Pursuing my Dream

I am pursuing a career in film and television and that is a hard road. It is hard not to get discouraged and to stay focused on the aspects that I control. I would love to hear what ways you all stay focused and encouraged your journeys to your dreams?

When I busted out of corporate America into building my dream career as a career coach.... -I took a bridge job so it didn't seem so "all or nothing" while I made the transition. -I set 3 year, 1 year, 6 month, 3 month, 1 month goals. -I kept my mindset in check. I reminded myself that "Everything is figure-outable." (In the words of Marie Forleo.) -I went through visioning exercises... where I actually visualized my future. -I took learning courses constantly getting better at my craft. -I joined communities of like-minded individuals so we could lift each other's spirits. -I focused mostly on helping others..... (versus helping myself.) -I reminded myself that my worst day going after my dream job is always better than my best day at a job I hated.

I wanted to pursue a career in Film ever since I was young. It is hard not to get discouraged. Eventually I stopped pursuing. If you want to keep going at it, best of luck but for me it was a lot of stress and it never seemed to lead to happiness. I had an unpaid internship and several offers to volunteer on film projects. I tried Grad School. I may have been that the particular school I chose wasn't the best match for me but, I dropped out. I was just thinking about the whole experience last week and the sort of anxiety it caused me. I am miles away from those feelings now. Jobs that I have taken since may not have been the most meaningful work but, they have provided me finances to seek out hobbies and other experiences that make me feel like more of a well rounded individual from when I was chasing that dream.
