What is your reaction? I received a call today from my HR Business Partner that he had been contacted by a former colleague who interviewed someone who currently works for our organization and wanted to get some background on them. First and foremost, I find it highly unethical that the HR folks are calling each other and secondly that I am being told so I can "prepare". What if this person doesn't leave our organization, now I am "tainted" and know they are unhappy. I can't exactly go up to them and ask them why they want to leave. Ughhh I don't like being in this position. As for reporting the HR person it won't do any good, our HR department could write a manual on what NOT to do to maintain employee confidentiality. Most of all I want to tell this person NOT to go to work for that company because it's obvious their HR department is as unprofessional as ours.
