New girl at work gets all the attention and "mentorship".
We just hired a new junior enginner at work, she isnt on my team but shes the only other woman in the whole company. From the day she has joined she is CONSTANTLY surrounded and supported by the 3 most senior Male engineers to help with the most trivial tasks... it sickens me. I take alot of pride in my work and have grown my carieer agenst the odds. I infuriates me that this new girl comes in and acts weak and helpless to get her hand held though everything.
The Director has even made comments like " guys do we really need 3 people to help her build a button?" and does nothing to stop it. I am tempted to complain to him about the absurdity of the situation or go straight fo hr.
Does anyone else feel women like that set back all those who actually support and grow themselves?
