My Life Changed When I Hired a Mother's Helper

I wanted to share an article written about my family from the California Sunday Paper. "“Financially, we have everything to cover what you need. At my job, I manage a team. I don’t come home and say, ‘Hey, Eraina, can you help me manage my team?’ I need you to walk out everything you need.” “Walking it out” — it means to look at how to get from point A to point B, to put a plan in place and implement that plan. To project manage. It made me cry — I thought, How can my husband say this to me? But it was true." https://story.californiasunday.com/child-care

Thank you for sharing! It's a great article on all the different ways that mothers (and fathers) cope with trying to balance family and career. It's a hard choice and there's no perfect answer!

You have a wonderful family. I feel that we are in a similar situation. I have two boys age 4 and 2. My oldest also has autism. I left a job last year where I made half a million dollars mostly because I could not get my household together. I ve been off workfor about 8months and in that time have been putting systems in place that will hopefully make it easier for when I go back partime in a month. The idea of a mother s helper is one that I ve always loved but it has been so much more difficult than I imagined to find the right person for the role. I m currently working on a blog/website to help other working moms get control of their household.

Thanks so much. It’s a work in progress. I can only imagine how tough it was to walk away from that amount of money, but your children will benefit in the long run. It’s tedious, but interviewing for childcare and support is worth it. My oldest is autistic and deaf. Each stage is different, so definitely be gentle with yourself. ❤️ Yes! Blog, contribute.
