What's your go-to platform for online learning?

They say that you can learn anything from Google and YouTube these days, but there are also some amazing free or inexpensive resources for online courses... Skillshare, LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda), Udemy, MOOC (massive open online courses from universities), as well as a plethora of industry-specific companies and experts. What's your favorite?

I've used Udemy, PluralSight, LinkedIn Learning, and YouTube. My biggest frustration with the courses I've taken is a lack of practical application. There's a lot of theory, but no "lab space" for practicing the tools I'm learning.

I've definitely found that going after specific mentors can really be the best for the full experience, but those courses are also priced accordingly. For example, one class I've been eying is Amy Porterfield's Digital Course Academy. The course is $2k, but she is the guru of creating digital courses and, from what I understand, she gives all the surrounding support to truly build an online course business.

I really enjoy using online platforms as you can learn at your own pace. Currently taking a Web Development course on Udemy that I got for 90% off. They have great deals sometimes so I recommend keeping an eye on the platform if there's a particular course you want to take! There's also some great ones on Linkedin Learning when you have a premium subscription (you get a one month free trial) and the certificates appear on your LI profile.

My personal favorite is edx because a lot of them have free versions of the course with certified certificates that I can pay for. I like having an actual professor teaching the courses as well. I have recently found Google Garage though which also has online learning material!

Honestly, I don't like any one of them over the other. My preferred method of learning requires something more interactive or a "live" component, even if it's in a remote environment. I don't really enjoy just watching videos or reading content in a "go at your own pace" approach. I prefer to show up for a call, video conference, or in-person workshop, or if I'm reviewing the material on my own, having a once-a-week check-in or way to interact with an instructor and/or classmates.

I actually agree. I have taken some great courses from specific individuals. They usually included multiple components - live weekly calls, course material, supportive Facebook groups, etc.
