How do I allow my team to brag about accomplishments so they don’t feel their work goes unnoticed?

I’ve seen a couple of posts about bragging about yourself on Fairygodboss and I think it’s a great way to give someone an outlet to say something awesome about what they’re doing in a safe space. I’m a manager and would love to create that kind of space for my team. I have a team of 7 people who are incredible. We as a team and individually have specific goals we challenge ourselves to overcome but a lot of this is just numbers reporting. I’d love for them to feel open about the challenges and accomplishments they had along the way and I want to prevent them from feeling like their small or big wins goes unrecognized. There must be a positive way to go about this. FGB’ers, any advice?

I love all of these ideas but worry about the energy needed to manage the fact that there may be uneven amounts of bragging due to personality types (eg introverts), actual performance or intrinsically more difficult-to-shine roles. So I’m curious how in an environment that is likely not completely equal how to deal with this? One thought I have is to focus on a rotational approach that deliberately spreads the attention evenly but the downside of this is that it may feel rote and not special enough....and maybe conflate bottom performers with top performers even when there is in reality, real and important differences.

Some things I've done in the past: 1. Keep a list of all active projects on display (name of project, one sentence summary, planned completion date and percent complete. On the day the project successfully completes, bring the team in coffee and donuts/bagels to celebrate. 2. When a particularly complex project successfully completes, I print off a banner and put it on a hallway cubicle wall congratulating the team and naming them all. 3. At monthly or quarterly meetings, call out the successes. Be sure to add any ROI achieved and customer comments to share with the extended team. 4. At regular team meetings, always be sure to share any positive comments you've received about the team or specific team members.

Do you have all employee meetings? We do a lot of bragging within those meetings. We'll put up a slide congratulating a team or individual on accomplishments. If not how about setting up a bragging board? A white board would work and you could put up those big team accomplishments. Or maybe a site wide email. We recently started a newsletter to let employees know what's going on in and around the office. It would be a great place to spread the word of those who have done something good. Bragging is a great way to keep your team motivated. Wishing you the best! Let me know how it works out for you or what you end up doing. I would love to hear other ways this was accomplished.
