Best kind of morning workout??

I'm trying to get into the habit of working out in the morning before work. Anyone have recs for the best kind of workout to do in the morning? I want something that will leave me feeling energized throughout the day -- and not exhausted by 4pm.

My morning workout consists of sleeping. It's great. You should try it.

Power Vinyasa morning yoga classes are the best jump starts to my day. If you like to sweat and can deal with heated rooms, I highly recommend this. It's also a huge stress reliever for me so I find myself being so much more productive throughout the day when I have a morning yoga class. Side note: It'll turn any hangover around in the first 10 minutes of class. You'll feel like a new person.

I tend to do short workouts that are highly structured. I.e. I do sprints one day, steady-state heartrate based cardio on other days and weight-based workouts 2 days per week. I don't always do these during the morning b/c its just not always possible, but i think if I can get it in during the day, its a triumph.

I'm trying to do morning workouts before work: on mondays, wednesdays and fridays, i'm doing stairmaster and then on tuesdays and fridays, i'm running. In the beginning, i was feeling exhausted at work but now I feel like it's energizing.

if you like running, I recommend doing a 30-45 minute run -- that's what I do most mornings. It's a great way to start the day and not so strenuous that it leaves me feeling drained. I've experimented with doing longer runs in the morning (6-8 miles) and that definitely leaves me feeling pretty exhausted by the end of the work day.
