There is always coffee and music.

Everytime I wake up in the morning, I feel like I’m jet lagged. Not because I just got off the plane but because that’s just the kind of way I wake up. The first 60 minutes of my day usually entails hitting the snooze button 2-3 times, getting into a fight with my eyelids and slowly progressing to feeling like a normal human being. Coffee and pop music from artists that are a decade younger than me is my morning wakeup cure... but it’s a slow progress. What’s your morning wake up routine?

I set an alarm but almost always wake up before it... not because I'm well-rested, but because I'm a terrible sleeper who wakes up every two hours or so throughout the night. So when it's finally actually morning, I tend to get out of bed feeling pretty exhausted...but then I go for a run /take a cold shower which helps wake me up. And I don't drink coffee until I get to work. Gives me something to look forward to!

My mornings are exactly the same... snooze the alarm, twice, wrestle my cat to stay with me longer, finally hear my husband shouting to me to get up... I get up.

My idea of a superhero is the woman (esp. the mom) out there that wakes up early, exercises and re-centers herself, reads the news and preps for the day ahead: all before my internal clock realizes what time it is. I naturally wake up around 7 without an alarm but my motivation to do anything besides have coffee and catch up on emails is nearly non-existent!

In the past few years, I've found I wake up without an alarm clock most days. I just sort of know when it's 5 am (even though often I want to sleep longer). I am not into music in the morning....I don't really even like talking. The first ting I do is reach for a glass of water by my nightstand. I then immediately head for the kitchen and make myself a very strong and milky English Breakfast tea.

My body has started waking itself up at 6 as well, which ISN'T ideal on the weekends!
