I drink close to four coffees a day...

And I want to cut down on my caffeine intake, but I don't know how without major kickback. Has anyone else successfully cut down and how?

Hm. I would try to slowly cut back (maybe by 1/2 a cup a week) until you get where you want to be. Go in prepared that the tiredness you may feel could be from withdrawal. I would also recommend looking at other sources of caffeine, like Matcha. Also try drinking water before a cup of coffee. Make sure you are having a food with coffee as well. Stimulants are extremely dehydrating (which makes you more tired, making you want more coffee). However, if you drink coffee for energy, my number 1 recommendation would be to work on getting better sleep & improve your diet(if thats an issue for you) to include more energizing foods (fruits & veggies) and less foods that make you crash (high carb, fried, greasy, high sugar, high salt, etc). Good luck!

It's hard to go completely cold turkey but cutting back one cup of coffee at a time and sticking to that was the way by husband cut back. Try this in a few week increments of time and you could be down to 1-2 cups before ya know it. Best of luck and keep us posted!

I used to drink coffee all day long, 2-3 12 cup pots. I just cut back a little at a time, 6 years ago I traded my coffee pot in for a Keurig. I still like my coffee but only have 2-3 cups a day.

I use to have one cup of coffee everyday but then I realized that it was it causing me to break out due to all the creamer I was putting in it. So I have now become a tea drinker. It you have more than one cup of coffee a day and you want to cut down I would say reduce your intake gradually.

Half caff is good. It gives the experience of coffee with less buzz. Green tea is also good for a warm drink with some caffeine, but not as much. I have to cut back on my coffee intake because the acidity is irritating to my insides. It's really hard to stop drinking it though. Sometimes I feel better if I just drink a bottle of water in between cups of coffee.

Usually, it's recommended that you drink a little less each day until you get to your desired point. You could start by mixing at least one cup with decaf. You could also drink more lattes and such, take longer to drink a coffee, etc.

This is how I broke the habit. Slowly mixing in decaf until that was all I was drinking. I didn't suffer any side effects and still had my hot beverage.

Hello, so I actually started analyzing my intake and I noticed I don't need as much caffeine the first 2 weeks of my cycle. Therefore, I typically only drink 2 a day & the espresso doesn't have to be as strong. However, the week leading to my menstruation I'm lower on energy, therefore, do about 3 a day & stronger espresso. My suggestion would be if you can start analyzing the impact it has on you throughout the month as well as the espresso / coffee you drink. As some are stronger than others.
