SEDONA IS THE PERFECT GETAWAY

For all kinds of budgets, and perfect for female travelers. I'm just back from a few days amidst the Red Rocks, relaxing under wide open sky with a thriving wellness community. I recommend L'Auberge for a luxe stay, Sedona Rouge (they have an amazing spa), or even The Matterhorn for the more budget-minded but still wanting to be in the thick of it. Elote is the must-eat Mexican, but doesn't take reservations and the wait can be up to two hours. There's Cress and Etch at L'Auberge, both fantastic, right on Oak Creek. And Mariposa and The Hudson for delicious vittles with unparalleled views. Try a Pink Jeep tour for sure, as getting off-road is what it's all about here. And there are plenty of hikes, across all the canyons, from light (1-2 miles) to the more advanced, Coconino State Forest is breathtaking. And don't forget to visit the Native American heritage sites, where you'll see dwelling and cave paintings dating back to 1100 A.D.. And did we mention the air? So clean, at altitudes of 5,000 feet and climbing. Breathe it all in, as you marvel at the spectacle that is this wild part of the country.

Sedona is one of my most favorite places on the planet. Have been there many times and taken my son at least 5x over the last 12 years. Regardless of your spiritual beliefs, I think most people can just sense that Sedona is someplace magical.

Wow - thank you for so many specific recommendations! My partner and I live in Phoenix and a weekend trip to Sedona sounds fantastic. Now that I have concrete ideas of what to do, it'll be easy :-)
