I recently became an operations director for an organization. I absolutely love this job but there’s one piece that I’m struggling with. There are two men that have worked there that are also directors but they report to me now. Both of them are significantly older and have been at the organization for 15+ years. Neither one of them is performing very well and they seem to have been able to just get by. This is not the way I operate and even though I set the expectations upfront I’m struggling with this part of the role. How do you discipline men in their 60s that report to you?
