Social Media

When I originally got a Facebook account 10 yrs ago, it was to stay connected with extended (out of town family) and reconnect with friends back in my high school & college days. FB has seriously evolved in a decade and some of this evolution has been fantastic...otherwise I have found a whole new meaning to social media toxicity. When this pandemic closed gyms here in NY (back in March) I started a private workout group on FB, a FB page and created a website. Everything was going well until recently and it has to do with work-related drama from the gym I was teaching at. At any rate, it has turned so ugly that I literally had to go onto my husband's FB, make him an administrator to both of my private groups as well as my page and then deactivate my FB. I think the pandemic has really pushed some business owners (who were already teetering on the edge) to tip right off entirely. The toxic workplace environment can certainly spill into your social media. *sigh* Are any of you mixing work and social media in similar ways? If so, I'm wondering how you juggle social media with workplace drama....even if the source of said issues stem from **former** employers/co-workers which is what I'm dealing with... it's gotten to where the stalking and involving the police has made me have to restructure everything and it's a gigantic headache.

I do not my work people are on linked in and my family and etc are on Facebook. You could set up your own private page for your clients set up a YouTube channel, charge a small fee or what you charge your clients. it does not have to be on Facebook.

Thanks Rachelle...I can't with Zumba Fitness classes on YouTube or any social media due to strict brand rules, but my private FB group has lots of other workouts everyday along with recipes and other info related to fitness and wellness. I'm on LinkedIn also and keep getting requests from strangers all over the world who are looking to solicit their services. Hopefully the fitness world will gradually make a huge shift, kinda like video rental stores became a thing of the past. :)
