Need Advice

I'm a mother of two and have found myself in a new stay at home position. It's been an adjustment to say the least. I moved from California to Las Vegas with my fiancé to better the lives our kids. I have found myself feeling extremely guilty. My fiancé works...and I don't. I'm not used to relying on someone else for absolutely everything like I am now. I'm also feeling guilty for not bringing in any money. I've been looking for something I could do from home, but its tough to find something that will allow me to tend to my 3 year old during the day as well. A lot of cold calling positions that require more attention than I can give. How did you make the transition from working mother to stay at home parent smooth? How did you help your family financially while tending to your children daily? Thanks in advance for the advice.

If you are good with children you might take the online classes for certification in home schooling... it would add to what you can do in childcare and could bring in a bit of money from home once you are fully trained. Look for grant programs for training if you do choose online classes.

Your contribution as a mom is totally worth more then the money unless you make a huge salary in your profession. I would look for work that you can do as a side hustle. You are blessed to have someone support you while you take the time to build a business and be there first hand to care for your kids. Think of the skills you have and how you can impact someone else's life with your service. If you have a computer you are ready to start your home based business.

You *are* contributing financially by raising your children. Your contribution is at least worth the same amount as any child care expenditures you’d have to make if you were working. Which raises a question: do your circumstances allow you to take care of another child (perhaps a friend of one of your children?) for a fee? That brings you some cash and might be a godsend to another parent. Are there any remote jobs that you could do at night?

Completely agreed! Childcare is expensive- you're contributing by lowering costs AND taking on a huge, difficult task. You should be so proud!

Thank you both for your encouragement! I am hunting for something at home in the evenings.
