Filling your pockets but not your soul?

Thinking a lot today about how I am really lucky to have a great job, but that I am constantly in danger of losing sight of the other parts that make me, well, me. Maybe it's because I had the flu this week, or because Spring has finally arrived in Vermont, and it seems like everything around me is blooming- but I feel stuck. Do you ever feel like maybe you've given too much to your job, and lost sight of your soul and what fills it?

Nicole, you are speaking my language right now. Sometimes I am in a battle between my amazing career and what really fuels my passion. And VERY often they intertwine, but when they don't I can feel it and I begin to think about everything in a different light. I am very fortunate that my good out weighs the bad, but I have to think logically some times before making hasty decisions, because I have almost done that before. What really started changing the game for me is when I started being more vocal with my boss. I was sharing my raw and unfiltered thoughts and feelings around certain things. Once my leader understand my consistent feelings (consistent is the keyword) he was able to support me in a much better way. Creating opportunities for me that allow me to stay in that good place.

Thank you for sharing! I'm a big believer of filling life with adventure. It can be really easy to get into my work routine and make this my only focus. But once I started to push myself out of my comfort zone by traveling more or trying general things that took me out of my routine, I became much happier. Maybe it's a career change but maybe you just need a lifestyle shake-up or something to get out of your slump! Hope this helps!
